Cook and Eat Well in Coventry is delivered by Groundwork West Midlands, ContinYou and partner organisations. We're a friendly bunch. But don't take our word for it - see for yourself.

Catherine Goodridge

Catherine Goodridge

Hi, my name is Catherine and I am the programme manager for the Coventry Cook and Eat Well Programme. Cook and Eat Well is about encouraging people in Coventry to learn more about cooking and how quick and easy it can be to prepare tasty, low cost, healthy meals.

I have always loved cooking, and have been cooking for as long as I can remember - my mother made all our bread and had us kneading dough from when we were toddlers!! Just showing that you can never start too young!

At college I trained as a home economist and have been working on the 5 A DAY scheme and supporting the changes to school food over the past few years. This programme is a new challenge and I am looking forward to meeting with you over the next few months as you get involved with the many activities that will be taking place across the city. My favourite recipe is the lunchbox wraps.

Anita Shervington

Anita Shervington

Hi, my name is Anita and I am the Community Engagement Coordinator, covering Liz's role while she is on maternity leave.

I come with over 8 years of community engagement experience, working on projects including women's empowerment, healthy eating and  and local heritage.

I'm really excited about working on the Cook & Eat Well project, and aim to build, and expand up on Liz's fantastic work so far, engaging local people to learn and share quick, tasty, healthy and low cost meals - from scratch!

My favourite recipe is Pumpkin soup, but I add Scotch Bonnet pepper to give it a lovely Caribbean flavour. Warning! remove the Scotch Bonnet before blending and dont let it burst - unless you like really hot food!

Claire Jaggers

Claire Jaggers

Hi, I'm Claire and I'm the Training and Cooking Club Manager for Cook and Eat Well. I'll be offering training for anyone that wants to become a Community Food Champion and supporting them to set up and run a cooking club in their local community.

I've been working with food and nutrition for 10 years and am really excited to be helping others to enjoy cooking (and eating!) as much as I do. I'm originally from the North West (don't hold it against me!) and in my spare time enjoy watching forensic programmes and being out and about relaxing with family and friends. My favourite recipe is the vegetable stew.

Helene Heath

Helene Heath

Hi, my name is Helene and I am the Food Dudes Co-ordinator in Coventry. I'm working with 30 primary schools to encourage children to eat fruit and vegetables. It's great to see children who've taken part in Food Dudes eating and enjoying a healthy diet. Most of them are now eating their 5 A DAY to keep them fit, which is fantastic!

I enjoy eating lots of fruit and vegetables myself and use my Food Dudes boxes to carry them with me every day to keep them fresh..My favourite fruits are mango and watermelon and in the summer I eat lots of salad because it's fresh and crunchy. My favourite hot meal is a chicken stir fry with Chinese vegetables.

Ruth Popejoy

Ruth Popejoy, VAC

My name is Ruth and I work for Voluntary Action Coventry, a charity set up to support and enable voluntary organisations to make an impact on life in the City of Coventry. I am responsible for the Cook and Eat Well grant scheme. This is a fun and exciting project distributing funding to community groups to help them develop through cooking activities. I've worked with community organisations for more than 20 years and love the solutions and difference that voluntary organisations create through their innovation, energy and enthusiasm

I enjoy reading and films, going out with my friends and family as well as yoga and boxercise to keep me fit and well. I love eating and really enjoy anything spicy with a bit of a kick, so my favourite recipe is Caribbean Peas and Rice!

Charlotte Green

Charlotte Green, VAC

Hi, my name is Charlotte  and I work for Voluntary Action Coventry, alongside Ruth Popejoy in an administration role. I really enjoy working with the Cook and Eat Well project to support the great work done in our local communities.

I enjoy creative cooking with family and friends, making up my own recipes and going crazy with the chilli powder! My favourite recipe is Jamaican Jerk Chicken.

Cook and Eat Well is also supported by a number of partners.
